Ask Me Anything

Yes. We are consistently developing tools for tough jobs and unique circumstances across industries and for medical necessities. We also offer consultation services for custom builds. If we can improve your individual or your teams’ experience by fabricating an adapted tool – we are more than happy to schedule a video call to learn more.

Otherwise follow our social medias or signup to keep us in your toolbox.

We have a growing list of vendors who may be ready to serve your company. For inquiry, please email here. We are happy to accommodate by finding -or- becoming a supplier for your company. We’ll follow up promptly to identify next steps.

As you’ve seen, we have kits pre-designed for teams. Well supported teams use these for baseline and follow up for additional tools. Users are constantly engaging with tools in new ways and application so your team has the best information for orders. Keep in mind, dynamic teams may need an array of available tools and may change as the population of teams change. Monitor wear and tear of arms and boots as indicators of preferred use. Ensure that every member of your team has been assigned their own Chestplate and has customized it to their preferences. Sharing will limit adoption as custom fitting each time will add to work steps rather than focus on reducing burden. Contact us for more support.

USING THE BACK UP™

Many users apply the “5-minute rule,” i.e., if you’re going to be doing a task on your hands and knees for 5 minutes or more, then it’s worth the effort to use the device. It takes only a few seconds to put on the harness and click in the support arm. Then you’ll accomplish your job faster and without added pain and stress on your body.

Check out our fitting video here. To correct these issues, unclip the shoulder strap from the yellow fabric tab on the back of the chest belt and reattach the shoulder strap clip to a different yellow fabric tab to get a better fit.

No, it’s not necessary to lock the arm. Whether or not you lock the arm is a matter of personal preference. Some prefer the sturdiness of having the arm locked in place; others prefer the free-form motion of the unlocked arm. Experiment to find the configuration that best suits your needs and the particular job you are doing.

The best use is wherever you feel comfortable. A good start is to set the height of the arm so that your torso is more or less parallel with the ground. This position gives you the most support. However, depending on the particular job you are doing, you may want to adjust the height up or down to suit your needs. The key is to find the setting that is a comfortable working position for you.

If that is the case, it is likely that you are not letting the device fully support your body. The BACK UP™ is a rugged device designed to support the full weight of most adults. To accustom yourself to the proper usage, get in position with the device and then totally relax your arm and back muscles, and allow your upper body to “sink in” to the foam padding on the chest plate. Let the device support your full weight. It may take some practice to learn to fully trust the device, but you can count on the BACK UP™ to provide “Support When You Need It.”

Absolutely. Anyone can wear the Chestplate lower on the abdomen, below the chest. The Chestplate is specifically designed to be fully adaptable to suit the users preferences for comfortability and secure wear. That’s why we encourage that each user is provided with their own Chestplate. It is deeply important to us that our designs are user-centric. If you have any issues or suggestions with fitting please do not hesitate to contact us.

We continue to post diverse and inclusive fitting videos on our YouTube channel.
