Knee Pain
Knee pain resulting from kneeling or applying pressure to the knees is a common issue, often arising from sustained weight on the joint. This type of discomfort typically manifests as a dull ache or sharp pain localized around the knee area. The pain may worsen with movement or pressure and can be accompanied by tenderness, swelling, or stiffness.
When you kneel for extended periods, the constant pressure can irritate the soft tissues surrounding the joint, including tendons and ligaments. This irritation may lead to conditions such as bursitis or tendinitis. In some cases, the peroneal nerve, which runs near the knee, can also become compressed, contributing to symptoms like tingling or numbness in the lower leg and foot.
To alleviate this pain, it’s important to take frequent breaks from kneeling, incorporate stretches and strengthening exercises for the surrounding muscles, and maintain proper ergonomics whether at work or during other activities. If pain persists, consulting with a healthcare professional is advised to rule out more serious conditions and develop an appropriate treatment plan.
Knee pads and tactical tools can help reduce pressure on the knees by redistributing weight while kneeling or working.
